Testing Methods for UL 2272 hoverboard

1.Electrical tests

1.1 Overcharge test

The purpose of this test is to evaluate whether a hoverboard is capable of resisting overcharging under normal conditions or overcharging caused by component in the charging control circuit has problems or failure .

1.2 Shortage test

The purpose of this test is to evaluate whether a hoverboard is capable of resisting an internal circuit shortage without appearing situations like fire, explosion, shell rupture, insulation resistance below the required value which may bring the user into a dangerous position.

1.3 Over discharge test

The purpose of this test is to evaluate the hoverboard ability of withstand over discharging cuased by failure of the protection circuit, the standard requires below phenomenon can’t occur:fire, explosion, shell rupture, insulation resistance below the required value which may bring the user into a dangerous position.

1.4 Temperature rising test

The test is designed to evalue working temperature of each parts excess corresponding rated value if the hoverboard in maximum charge and maximum load operation.

1.5 Unbalanced Charging Test

2.4 Drop test

2.5 Material molding test

The test was designed to evaluate whether the injection molded housing of the hoverboard exist contractions and distortions because of internal stress release during the injection molding process, which may result in result in hazardous components outside or electrical clearance decreases.

3.Environmental testing

If the motor used for hoverboard is not tested in accordance with UL 1004-1, it is necessary carring out motor overload and motor stall test.
